About cookies

Everyone who visits a website with cookies must by law be informed that the website contains cookies, what they are used for and how they can be avoided. In Swedish it is called cakes but we use the English name here because more people are familiar with it.

Cookies our website

On Umeå municipal companies' website, we use cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and enable us to follow you as a visitor to the website.

Type of cookies

We use these types of cookies on our website:
"Vizzit", to produce web statistics for how visitors navigate and visit the website.
"Jsessionid", a session cookie that keeps track of which visitor belongs to which session in our web publishing system. Deleted when you are inactive on the site.

Services that use cookies

"Google Translate", a cookie used by the translation service. Removed when you shut down the computer.

"Geo", "pref", "visitor_info1_live" and "use_hitbok" are YouTube cookies.
"AddThis", a cookie used by our sub-function. It collects information about how visitors use the sub-function. Disappears after two years.
We do not store any personal information about you.

If you do not want to use cookies

If you do not accept the use of cookies, you can turn off cookies in your browser's security settings. You can read more about how to do this on your browser's help and support pages.

What happens if you turn off cookies?

Nothing for you as a visitor. The website will continue to function as usual with the difference that all URLs will contain a token that our web publishing system will use to keep track of which session is linked to which visitor.

Our statistics program will not be able to see how the visitor navigates, which gives us a worse basis in our improvement work.
